Trip Tips Europe 4: Paris - Roteiro 5 dias/ 5 days

Hey guys
post em portugues abaixo! ;]

So today I am going to talk about the city of lights and love, the stunning Paris!! I went to Paris on December, 2011, quite while ago, so forgive me for do not have a super high quality pics and stuff.
So winter and Xmas time in Paris, freaking cold and freaking lots of lights! ahaha It was def. the coldest week of my life, seriously, was too cold to be true! The city is so nice with all the Xmas lights, but if its too cold and not sun, it gets a little bit too grey (much more grey than London --- oops). Anyway, I've done a route of 5 days for you guys, so you can enjoy it any time of the year. Considering my friends pics of going to Paris on Spring or Summer time, I'd recommend you do that so!

I arrived on the late afternoon, so I will desconsider the first night on the tips, because  I did nothing that evening! haha

To walk around Paris we decide to get the Paris Visit which is a pass for trains, tube, buses, discount in museums and activities. For me it really worthed at the time, because my hotel was on the zone 3, and because I'd go to Disney and Versalleis and the pass would include the train to those places as well. Prices may vary according to age, days and promotions.

Here you can get the tube Map of Paris: http://parisbytrain.com/paris-metro-maps/
My hotel was: Hotel Campanille. It was far from the centre of Paris, but the tube was like 30 seconds from it, so considering the price on Xmas-New year's week, it was worthed. The hotel is clean, and breakfast is very nice!
For more info about Paris: Visit Paris

Our first stop was the Moulin Rouge (tube to Blanche), we just saw the building, made some pics, and that was it, if you want to actually watch the show you should do the reservations online.

From there we went, on foot, until the Sacre Coeur and Montmartre. There was a Xmas market where we ate  lunch. We got in the Church, it is very beautiful, but unfortunatelly we are not allowed to make pics. On the square in front of the church was lots of street artists, so we took a time to watch one of the singers and stuff. This is part of Paris culture, so pay attention on the street artists, they are very good!

We finish the day going to see the Magdalene and the Obelisc, they are so pretty and worth your visit!! The cross of the Magdalene is very famous, and appears in lots of movies, like Devil wears Prada!

It was winter, and as I said below very very cold, so the nights were coming earlier and the cold was making us super tired as well.

Day 2: Eiffel Tower
Tube Line 9 : Trocadero or Tube Line 6: Bir-Hakeim
We chose to the Tower just on the second day, because by the time, we read in some blogs, that Tuesday had less lines. So that's why! haha

However, I don't know if that is very true, because we for sure stayed about 4h in the line! And it was, again, a very cold day, probably the coldest of my life, so we couldn't go to the very top, but anyway, was worth!

The thing about the  hours in the line is that it makes you very tired, so I do recommend get there as earlier as you can, or on the last time in the day just before closing, because chances are you will wait less on the queue.

We spend the whole day on the tower and its premisses, and we went to Champs Elisee for a walk in the night.

Day 3. Disney - Paris
I will do another post for Disney, watch it out!

On the day 4 we went to Versailles. It took us the whole day, so if you want to go there, take one day of your trip to do so.
The Chateau is not close to central Paris, and you have to take a train to go there! There is a queue of course, but it shouldn't take that long to get in.

When you are inside the Palace, you have a one way route, which you can take as long as you want. Same for the gardens, which, unfortunately I didn't visit, because was raining a lot when I was there, and was just impossible! =[ however, go for it, because I know it's stunning!

Day 5: LouvreNotre Dame and New years eve in Paris.
Last day we went to Louvre. We woke up as early as we could, to try avoiding a too long line, and actually it helped, we did have to queue but not as long as we did in the tower or Versailles.

So, we knew we want to see the Mona Lisa, so that was pretty much our on focus! However we also visit the greek-egypitian-roman areas, which were nice!
Louvre is massive, even bigger than you can imagine! So, look on the website and plan your visit, choose what you want to see, it's impossible to see everything in one day, really! So choose before hand, and focus on those areas, even though, everything is far and it's easy to get lost inside! I did, like lots of times!

We have lunch on the museum, inside they have lots of restaurants with good food for quite fair price, and you don't need to leave.

After the Louvre, we went to Notre Dame, on foot, they are quite close to each other, and we also stopped on  the lockers bridge (which is no longer! =[ ).

After that (long, long day) we came back to Hotel, got ready and went to the Eiffel Tower for the New Year's eve. And was a disappointment, the tower just shine (which is nice, but it shines, every night, every 10 minutes), there was no fireworks (they are forbiden in Paris, so no, there isn't going to be ANY fireworks, anywhere in Paris). I, honestly, don't recommend spend NYE in Paris, it's quite boring, unless you have paid for a private party in advance (which are very very expensive) and the transportation is a nightmare, the close the tubes for different zones, and you never know what is going to happen!
So if you can choose, go some where else in Europe, like London or Amsterdam, that are the closest capitals.

ps; Paris is dangerous, there are lots of people offering to taking pics of you and sell you stuff, try to avoid that, they can steal you very easily. Be aware on buses and tube, because people tried to steal us every single day when I was there, which was quite annoying. So just bare in your things.

That was it guys, I hope you enjoyed my tips and pics!

Day 2: Eiffel Tower

Day 3: Disney

Day 5:   LouvreNotre Dame and New years eve in Paris
